Costa Rica is located in Central America, between Panama to the south and Nicaragua to the north.
Costa Rica is bounded on the west by the Pacific ocean and on the east by the Caribbean sea.
Costa Rica is about 20% larger than Switzerland. A peaceful, safe and democratic nation (a president who has won the Nobel Peace Prize, no army), Costa Rica prides itself on its universal health care, education and democratic elections.

How do I get to Costa Rica?
Your easiest way to travel to Costa Rica is by a direct flight to one of its two international airports, Juan Santa Maria international airport (SJO) near the capital city of San Jose or Liberia international airport (LIR) near the Pacific beaches in Guanacaste.
Your best investment options generally are within one hour of one of the two international airports, as tourists generally prefer a drive of one hour or less to their final destination. Pending completion of planned road improvements, this means beach destinations in the northwest Pacific province of Guanacaste or mountain destinations near San Jose.
I want to go to the beaches.
If you want to go to the beaches, your shortest trip is a direct flight into LIR. From there, you have your choice of beach destinations within a one hour drive, starting in the north with Playa Papagayo (The Four Seasons) and heading south to Tamarindo and Hacienda Pinilla (the new Marriott Resort and Hotel).
Starting south of Playa del Coco are some of the best surf, snorkeling and even wading beaches in the country: Playa Pirata (walking and wading offshore); Playa Conchal (snorkeling); Playa Grande (surfing and turtle watching); Playa Tamarindo (surfing and people watching); Playa Langosta (surfing); Playa Pinilla (swimming and walking); Playa Avellanas (surfing); and Playa Negra (surfing).

Where Exactly is "The Oaks" Located?
The Oaks is situated 48 minutes south of LIR, in the beautiful countryside of La Josefina, 10 minutes outside Tamarindo, midway between the towns of Villa Real five minutes to the south and Huacas three minutes to the north.
Five minutes west of Villa Real is the surf capital of Tamarindo. One minute from Villa Real, before Tamarindo, there is the friendly and welcoming Café Café, much better than a Starbucks! One minute more, and you reach the Tamarindo airport. One minute more and you are at the fabulous new AutoMercado shopping center, a magnet for shoppers from as much as 25 miles away.
Five minutes south of Villa Real is Hacienda Pinilla, a golf destination, location of the new 310 room Marriott Hotel and Resort and of a superb 18 hole Mike Young golf course.
Three minutes north of The Oaks is Huacas, gateway to Playa Grande, Brasilito, Playa Potrero and Flamingo.
45 minutes north of Huacas is the international airport in Liberia, with direct flights from the United States and Canada.
Less than 15 minutes north from The Oaks is the booming surf beach of Playa Grande, famous for its national park and protected leatherback turtles, clear and sparkling Playa Conchal, perfect for snorkeling, Brasilito, Reserva Conchal, Playa Potrero and Flamingo, a world - famous deep sea fishing destination.

What Is "The Oaks"?
The Oaks is a luxury gated condominium resort on the main paved road from Liberia international airport to Tamarindo, only 48 minutes from the airport. Its signature entrance of three sinuous concrete towers, reminiscent of the Spanish sculptures of Gaudi, represent the three species of oak trees native to Costa Rica. The Oaks features 16 three story buildings, surrounded by oaks, with six units per building, three swimming pools, including gorgeous underwater fibre optic lighting, and a nature preserve. During its construction, over 70% of the trees on site were preserved, an amazing feat by Costa Rica standards. Each of the 96 brand new two bedroom, two bath condominiums is approximately 900 square feet, ecologically friendly, and built to the highest North American standards.
Unit 13 is a ground floor unit just steps from the swimming pool and BBQ area. It features a granite kitchen, marble baths, stainless steel appliances, an individual safe, excellent flow-through ventilation, cathedral ceilings and double-paned windows. The second bath is connected to the guest bedroom and has a privacy door allowing it to function either as an en-suite bath or as a common bathroom for guests. |

Should I rent a car?
We recommend renting a car, as The Oaks is perfectly situated for exploring the region. We can assist you with a discounted car rental, if you wish. If you decide not to rent a car (tour operators will pick you up from and return you to The Oaks), we will help you with airport transport if you will provide us with the number of people and pieces of luggage in your party.
How much is this luxury rental?
During the peak Christmas, New Year and Easter weeks, rentals are only $1,800 per week (one week minimum). Divided by two couples, this works out to only $900 per couple. Compare this to a one bedroom suite at the new Marriott resort, at $1,499 per night.
During the high season, rates are only $170 per night ($85 per couple), three night minimum. During the value season after July 31 and before December 21, rates are only $155 per night ($77.50 per couple).
Monthly quotes are available on request, subject to availability. As a rule of thumb, two weeks are discounted by 10%, three weeks by 20% and four weeks by 30%.
How do I place my reservation?
- Email us a scanned photocopy of the first two pages of the passport of each person staying in the apartment.
- A deposit (the amount will depend on the rental period) to hold your reservation will be made to PayPal. We will send you the information to make this payment online as soon as we confirm availability for the dates you request.
